WINDS (Wideband InterNetworking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite, also known as Kizuna), is a Japanese communication satellite. Launch was originally scheduled for 2007. The launch date was eventually set for 15 February 2008, however a problem detected in a second stage manoeuvring thruster delayed it to 23 February. Lift-off occurred at 08:55 GMT on 23 February, and the satellite separated from the carrier rocket, into a Geosynchronous transfer orbit at 09:23, launched by an H-IIA carrier rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center. It will be used to relay the internet to Japanese homes and businesses, through Ka-Band signals. It will also develop technologies to be utilised by future Japanese communication spacecraft. It is part of Japan's i-Space program, and is to be operated by JAXA and NICT.

Wind is the flow of gases on a large scale. On the surface of the Earth, wind consists of the bulk movement of air. In outer space, solar wind is the movement of gases or charged particles from the Sun through space, while planetary wind is the outgassing of light chemical elements from a planet's atmosphere into space. Winds are commonly classified by their spatial scale, their speed, the types of forces that cause them, the regions in which they occur, and their effect. The strongest observed winds on a planet in the Solar System occur on Neptune and Saturn. Winds have various aspects, an important one being its velocity; another the density of the gas involved; another is the energy content or wind energy of a wind.

Winds es una banda noruega de metal progresivo y metal neoclásico formada en 1998. Su música está fuertemente influenciada por la música clásica gracias al piano de Andy Winter y a los solos de guitarra de Carl August Tidemann. Las letras, escritas por Andy Winter, hablan sobre el existencialismo y la filosofía astral.

Winds est un groupe norvégien de métal neo-classique/progressif formé en 1998. Leur musique, construite autour du clavier de Andy Winter et des solos de Carl August Tidemann, est largement influencée par la musique classique. Les paroles, composées par Andy, traitent avant tout du cosmos et de l'existence au travers de différents concepts animant indépendamment chaque album. Winds est pour l'instant uniquement un groupe studio.

Le vent est le mouvement au sein d’une atmosphère, masse de gaz située à la surface d'une planète, d'une partie de ce gaz. Les vents sont globalement provoqués par un réchauffement inégalement réparti à la surface de la planète provenant du rayonnement stellaire (énergie solaire), et par la rotation de la planète. Sur Terre, ce déplacement est essentiel à l'explication de tous les phénomènes météorologiques. Le vent est mécaniquement décrit par les lois de la dynamique des fluides, comme les courants marins. Il existe une interdépendance entre ces deux circulations de fluides.
