1999–2000 Los Angeles Lakers season
The 1999–2000 Los Angeles Lakers season was the 54th season of the franchise, 52nd in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 40th in Los Angeles. They finished the regular season with 67 wins, finishing with the most wins since the 1971–72 team won a franchise record 69 games. The Lakers clinched the top seed in the playoffs for the 25th time in franchise history and the first in 9 years. Center Shaquille O'Neal was almost unanimously named the Most Valuable Player of the regular season.
