Crimea
that flows into the
Black Sea
. Its mouth is located half-way between
Yevpatoria
and
Sevastopol
.
Alma
is the
Crimean Tatar
word for an "apple". Near the Alma river the allied British, French, and Ottoman armies defeated the Russians under Prince
