Binghamton, New York metropolitan area
The Binghamton Metropolitan Statistical Area, also called Greater Binghamton or the Triple Cities, is a region of southern upstate New York in the Northeastern United States, anchored by the city of Binghamton. The MSA encompasses Broome and Tioga counties, which together had a population of 251,725 as of the 2010 census. The MSA as set by the OMB fails to include the populations of Delaware County, NY; Chenango County, NY; and Susquehanna County, PA that also encompass the actual region. Large portions of the populations in Cortland County, NY; Otsego County, NY; and Wayne County, PA also work and/or conduct the majority of their shopping and business in the Binghamton MSA. Using the definition of a 30-mile radius from Binghamton, the population as of the 2010 census is 317,331.
