Dey (Arabic: داي, from Turkish ) was the title given to the rulers of the Regency of Algiers (Algeria) and Tripoli  under the Ottoman Empire from 1671 onwards. Twenty-nine deys held office from the establishment of the deylicate in Algeria until the French conquest in 1830.

The D.E.Y. is a Latin Hip hop group that debuted in 2007, following in the footsteps of the Fugees and The Black Eyed Peas. The group is composed of members Divine, Élan, and Yeyo. The trio's name is also meant to symbolize a new day in music.
