"If Only for One Night" is a 1979 song written by singer Brenda Russell. The song is from her 1979 debut album Brenda Russell. American recording artist Luther Vandross recorded a cover version for his 1985 album The Night I Fell in Love. Vandross has performed the song on several concert tours, including his 1985, The Night I Fell in Love Tour. The song was sampled for the 2005 song "Let Me Hold You" by Bow Wow featuring Omarion. Tamar Braxton also sampled the song on the track "I Love You" from her album, 2015's Calling All Lovers.
