Joel Edgerton (born 23 June 1974) is an Australian actor and filmmaker. He is best known for his roles in films such as Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), Warrior (2011), The Thing (2011), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), and The Great Gatsby (2013). He starred as Ramesses II, the main antagonist, in the 2014 biblical epic and co-starred alongside Johnny Depp as corrupt FBI Agent John Connolly in the 2015 drama Black Mass.
