Lewisham is an area in south-east
London, England, in the
London Borough of Lewisham, centred south-east of
Charing Cross. The area is identified in the
London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London. As a major centre, Lewisham had a population of 96,224 in 2011. It is an important transport hub for South London, and is one of the borough's largest settlements.
