Manichaeism (; in Modern Persian Āyin e Māni; ) was a major religion that was founded by the Iranian prophet Mani (in Persian: مانی, Syriac: ܡܐܢܝ , Latin: Manichaeus or Manes; 216–276 AD) in the Sasanian Empire.
