Pytalovsky District is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Pskov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast and borders with Palkinsky District in the north, Ostrovsky District in the east, Krasnogorodsky District in the south, and with Karsava, Baltinava, and Vilaka municipalities of Latvia in the west. The area of the district is . Its administrative center is the town of Pytalovo. Population: 14,853 (2002 Census); The population of Pytalovo accounts for 48.2% of the district's total population.
