Special Team 6 is a multinational police force formed after the
Kosovo conflict. The unit forms a part of the
UN police and every member country of the
UN can apply personnel to the unit. Their main task is simply to be police officers and handle dangerous situations caused by
Albanian and
Serb ethnic violence in
Kosovo. High-risk arrests is also a task for ST6 along with
security of
diplomats. Other than this, tasks include that of what police special operation units normally are trained to do,
hostage rescue for instance.
