Urticaceae , the nettle family, is a family of flowering plants. The family name comes from the genus Urtica. Urticaceae includes a number of well-known and useful plants, including the nettles, ramie (Boehmeria nivea), mamaki (Pipturus albidus), and ajlai (Debregeasia saeneb).
