Vadakkencherry is a small town in the Palakkad district, state of Kerala, India, which is 40 km. north-east of Thrissur and the same distance south-west of Palakkad (Total distance is 80 km. and this is the exact centre of the route). It is under Alathur Taluk in Palakkad district. National Highway 47 passes through Vadakkencherry. Vadakkencherry Vela and "Eakadesi Villaku]  is one of the famous festivals in Kerala. Though the spellings are different, many people confuse Vadakkencherry with Wadakkancheri of Thrissur.
