Various methods of
baby transport have been used across different cultures and periods and for different ages of children. Methods can be divided between wheeled devices including baby carriages (carrycots in British English), strollers (pushchairs), slings, backpacks, baskets, infant
car seats, and bicycle carriers. The larger and heavier perambulators or prams, which had become popular during the
Victorian era, were replaced by lighter and more flexible designs during the latter half of the 1900s.
