During the late Middle Ages, the two cities of Argos (, ) and Nauplia (modern Nafplion, Ναύπλιον; in the Middle Ages Ἀνάπλι, in French Naples de Romanie) formed a separate lordship within the Frankish-ruled Morea in southern Greece.
