Bruce Lorne Campbell (born June 22, 1958) is an American actor, voice artist, director, writer, producer and author. A cult film actor, Campbell is best known for portraying Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's hit Evil Dead franchise, from the 1978 short film Within the Woods to the currently ongoing TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead. He also has starred in many low-budget cult films such as Crimewave (1985), Maniac Cop (1988), (1989), and Bubba Ho-Tep (2002). He has since made small appearances in successful films such as Darkman (1990), the Fargo film (1996) and TV series (2015), The X-Files (1999), Ellen (1996-1997), Charmed (2002), Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007), Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) and Cars 2 (2011). Campbell is of Scottish descent.
