Continental Greece (,
Stereá Elláda; formerly ,
Chérsos Ellás), colloquially known as
Roúmeli (Ρούμελη), is a traditional
geographic region of
Greece. In English the area is usually called
Central Greece, but the equivalent Greek term (Κεντρική Ελλάδα,
Kentrikí Elláda) is more rarely used.
