Ge'ez

(syllable alphabet) for several languages of
Ethiopia

Eritrea
. It originated as an
abjad
(consonant-only alphabet) and was first used to write
Ge'ez

liturgical language
of the
Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church
and the
Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church
