Hattusa (Hittite: , ^URU, read "", ) was the capital of the Hittite Empire in the late Bronze Age. Its ruins lie near modern Bogazkale, Turkey, within the great loop of the Kizilirmak River (Hittite: Marashantiya; Greek: Halys).
