Korean Empire
The Korean Empire (; Hanja: 大韓帝國; Daehan Jeguk; literally "Great Korean Empire") was proclaimed in October 1897, after the Joseon dynasty officially exited the Imperial Chinese tributary system. It lasted until the annexation of Korea by Japan in August 1910.
