Omega
The Omega interpreter is a strict pure functional programming interpreter similar to the Hugs Haskell interpreter. The syntax closely resembles that of Haskell but with important differences:
  • Omega is strict (Hugs is lazy);
  • Ability to introduce new kinds;
  • Allows writing of functions at the type level.
Other differences are documented in the Omega user guide.

Omega (capital: Ωlowercase: ωGreek Ωμέγα) is the 24th and last letter of the Greek alphabet. In the Greek numeric system, it has a value of 800. The word literally means "great O" (ō mega, mega meaning 'great'), as opposed to omicron, which means "little O" (o mikron, micron meaning "little"). This name is Byzantine; in Classical Greek, the letter was called ō , whereas the omicron was called ou . The form of the uppercase letter derives from that of an omicron (Ο) broken up at the side (), with the edges subsequently turned outward (, , ). The modern lowercase shape goes back to the uncial form , a form that developed during the 3rd century BC in ancient handwriting on papyrus, from a flattened-out form of the letter () that had its edges curved even further upward.

Mechanical Animals
Mechanical Animals is the third full-length studio album by American rock band Marilyn Manson, released in September 1998 by Nothing and Interscope Records. The album marked a shift from the industrial and alternative metal styles of the band's earlier efforts, into an experimentation with 1970's glam rock. As their first release following the success of their breakthrough album, 1996's Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals' themes primarily dealt with the trappings of fame and drug abuse.
