is a metropolitan region in Japan encompassing the metropolitan areas of the cities of Kyoto in Kyoto Prefecture, Osaka in Osaka Prefecture and Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture. The entire region has a population (as of 2010) of 19,341,976 over an area of 13,033 km². It is Japan's second most populated urban region after the Greater Tokyo Area, containing approximately 15% of Japan's population.
