São Paulo (; ; Saint Paul in English) is a Brazilian municipality located in the southeastern part of the country. The metropolis is an alpha global city — as listed by the GaWC — and is the most populous city in Brazil, South America, the Southern Hemisphere, and the Americas. It is also the world's 9th largest city by population.
