The
Tel Aviv District is the smallest and most densely populated of
six administrative districts of
Israel with a population of 1.2 million residents. It is 99.0% Jewish and 1.0
rab (
0.7% Muslim, 0.3 hristian). It is also the only of the six districts to simultaneously not border the West Bank, Gaza Strip, or any international border, instead being surrounded on the north, east, and south by the
Central District and on the west by the
Mediterranean Sea. The population density of Tel Aviv district is 7,200/km2.
