Tonkolili District is a  District in the Northern Province of  Sierra Leone. Its capital and largest city is Magburaka. The other major towns include Mabonto, Bumbuna, Makali, Masingbi, Yele, Bendugu, Mile 91, Bumbuna, Yonibana and Matotoka. The towns of Mathora, Magbass and Masanga each are, respectively, a host of a Senior Secondary school (the Government Secondary School For Girls), a Sugar factory and a major Leprosy Hospital. , the District had a population of 385,322. The district occupies a total area of and comprises eleven Chiefdoms.
