EVolution is a research project funded by the European Commission under The 7th Framework Programme]in the Green Cars initiative] It started 1 October 2012 with a duration of 4 years. The objective of the project is to develop new materials which will significantly reduce the weight of the new generation of hybrid- and electrical vehicles.

Evolution is change in the heritable traits of biological populations over successive generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level of biological organisation, including the levels of species, individual organisms, and  molecules.
