Camel

A camel is an even-toed ungulate within the genus Camelus, bearing distinctive fatty deposits known as "humps" on its back. The two surviving species of camel are the dromedary, or one-humped camel (C. dromedarius), which inhabits the Middle East and the Horn of Africa; and the bactrian, or two-humped camel (C. bactrianus), which inhabits Central Asia. Both species have been domesticated; they provide milk, meat, hair for textiles or goods such as felted pouches, and are working animals with tasks ranging from human transport to bearing loads.

They allow an operator to define services over and above standard GSM services/UMTS services. The CAMEL architecture is based on the Intelligent Network (IN) standards, and uses the CAP protocol.

Die Altweltkamele (Camelus) sind eine Säugetiergattung, die sich in zwei Arten aufteilt: das Trampeltier oder Baktrische Kamel (C. bactrianus), das sich durch zwei Höcker auszeichnet und das Dromedar (C. dromedarius), das nur über einen Höcker verfügt. Wenn auch diese Tiere umgangssprachlich oft einfach als „Kamele“ bezeichnet werden, so gehören zur zoologischen Familie der Kamele (Camelidae) auch die in Amerika lebenden Neuweltkamele (Guanako, Lama, Alpaka und Vikunja).

De kamelen (Camelus) vormen een geslacht van grote kameelachtige hoefdieren. Tot dit geslacht horen twee soorten, de kameel (Camelus bactrianus) en de dromedaris (Camelus dromedarius). Beide soorten leven in de drogere streken van Noord-Afrika, de Hoorn van Afrika, het Midden-Oosten en Azië.
