Internal conflict in Peru

The Internal conflict in Peru (labelled the People's War by the Maoists) began 1980 is an ongoing armed conflict between the government of Peru and the insurgent People's Guerilla Army , armed wing of the Communist Party of Peru (known as Shining Path). The Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement was also involved in the contflict from 1982 to 1997.
