Levi

Levi/Levy (, ; Standard Levy Tiberian ; literally joining) was, according to the Book of Genesis, the third son of Jacob and Leah, and the founder of the Israelite Tribe of Levi (the Levites). Certain religious and political functions were reserved for the Levites, and in the  documentary hypothesis, the early sources of the Torah—the Jahwist and Elohist—appear to treat the term Levi as just being a word meaning priest; some scholars therefore suspect that "levi" was originally a general term for a priest, and had no connection to ancestry, and that it was only later, for example in the priestly source and Blessing of Moses, that the existence of a tribe named Levi became assumed, in order to explain the origin of the priestly caste.

Avalanche of Worms is the debut studio album of Levi / Werstler, a collaboration between guitarists Emil Werstler and Eyal Levi (then joint guitarists of the American death metal group Dååth). Released on Magna Carta Records in 2010, the album features twelve all instrumental rock-metal tracks. Both Levi and Werstler produced the album, which also features contributions from guest artists such as drummer Sean Reinert. The album was praised in the press for its "dazzling display of fretboard pyrotechnics," as well as its experimental and unique nature.

Levi or Lévi is a Jewish surname. It is a transliteration of the Hebrew לוי meaning "joining". Another spelling of the name is Levy or Lévy. According to Jewish tradition, people with the Levi surname are Levites and can claim patrilineal descendance from the Leviim of biblical times.
