Peenemünde Army Research Center
The Peenemünde Army Research Center (, HVP) was founded in 1937 as one of five military proving grounds under the German Army Weapons Office (Heereswaffenamt). It is widely regarded as the birthplace of modern rocketry and spaceflight.
