Tegula (insect anatomy)
A tegula is a small sclerite situated above the base of the costal vein in the wings of various insects such as OrthopteraLepidopteraHymenopteraDiptera, and Auchenorrhyncha, and attached to the antero-lateral portion of the mesonotum.
