Butyrylcholinesterase (

BuChE,
pseudocholinesterase, or
plasma cholinesterase, is a nonspecific
cholinesterase enzyme that hydrolyses many different
choline-based
esters. In humans, it is made in the liver, found mainly in
blood plasma, and encoded by the
BCHE gene.
