Mechanismus
Mechanismus (von altgriechisch mechané „Maschine, Werkzeug“) steht für:
- in Physik und Technik eine aus der Kräftelehre abgeleitete Definition der Maschine
- technisch für eine Bauart von Getrieben
- veraltete philosophische Lehre, die alles kausal-mechanisch erklärt, siehe Mechanizismus
- Mechanismus (Fehlerdiagnostik), diagnostischer Begriff zur Beschreibung des Zahlverständnisses rechenschwacher Schüler

Mechanismus
Mechanismus (z reckého méchané = nástroj, stroj) muže znamenat:
- obvykle pohyblivé zarízení, prípadne cást stroje (napríklad mechanismus z Antikythéry nebo strhovací mechanismus filmových prístroju);
- prenesene sled kroku, jež na sebe navazují a zprostredkují nejaké pusobení (napríklad reakcní mechanismus v chemii nebo v psychologii);
- filosofický smer, který každou skutecnost chápe jako stroj a pusobení mezi cástmi jako ciste silové - viz Mechanismus (filosofie).
