Age regression in therapy
Age regression in therapy is an increased access to childhood memories, thoughts and feelings as a part of a psychotherapeutic process. Age regression is an aspect of a number of psychotherapies. In hypnotherapy the term describes a process in which the patient moves their focus to memories of an earlier stage of life in order to explore these memories or to get in touch with some difficult-to-access aspects of their personality. Age progression is sometimes employed in hypnotherapy as well, making the patient project themselves forward, imagining a desired outcome or the consequences of their current destructive behavior.
