Antigua

Antigua ( or sometimes the spelling pronunciation ), also known as Waladli or Wadadli by the native population, is an island in the West Indies. It is one of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean region and the main island of the country of Antigua and Barbuda. Antigua and Barbuda became an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations on 1 November 1981.

Antigua (spanisch für „alt“, das „u“ wird nicht gesprochen) ist eine Insel der Kleinen Antillen in der Karibik und Hauptinsel des Staates Antigua und Barbuda.

Antigua is een eiland in de Caribische Zee met een oppervlakte van 280 km². Het eiland is onderdeel van het land Antigua en Barbuda en heeft ongeveer 68.000 inwoners. De meeste inwoners wonen in Saint John's, de grootste stad van het eiland en tevens de hoofdstad van Antigua en Barbuda.

L'île d'Antigua (en créole Wadadli, ce qui signifie notre propre) est une île des Caraïbes qui est un des territoires de Antigua-et-Barbuda. Cette île relativement plate occupe une superficie de et compte une population de habitants dont vivent dans la capitale de Saint John's.
