Assyria or variations of. Geographically, the indigenous Assyrian areas are "part of today's northern Iraq, southeastern Turkey, northwestern Iran and northeastern Syria". It is now largely coterminous with the
Kurdish homeland, including parts of what is now primarily northern
Iraq, northeastern
Syria, northwestern
Iran, and southeastern
Turkey.
