Barnaba da Modena was a mid-14th-century Italian painter, active in
Lombardy. There is a painting by him in the church of San Giovanni Battista in
Alba. A Byzantine-style
Virgin and Child, once in Frankfort, is currently located at the
Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. There are also paintings by this painter in the
Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana (
Crucifixion) the
Chazen Museum of Art in Madison, Wisconsin, and the
Städel Museum in Frankfurt (
Madonna and Child).
