Cairo

Cairo ( ; , al-Qahirah) is the capital and largest city of Egypt. Greater Cairo is the largest metropolitan area in the Middle East and the Arab world, and 15th-largest in the world, and is associated with ancient Egypt, as the famous Giza pyramid complex and the ancient city of Memphis are located in its geographical area. Located near the Nile Delta, modern Cairo was founded in 969 CE by Jawhar al-Siqilli ("the Sicilian") of the Fatimid dynasty, but the land composing the present-day city was the site of ancient national capitals whose remnants remain visible in parts of Old Cairo. Cairo has long been a center of the region's political and cultural life, and is nicknamed "the city of a thousand minarets" for its preponderance of Islamic architecture.

Cairo ist der englische Name der ägyptischen Hauptstadt Kairo.

Kairo ( „die Starke“ oder „die Eroberin“) ist die Hauptstadt Ägyptens und die größte Stadt der arabischen Welt. Von Ägyptern wird die Stadt oftmals auch einfach mit dem Landesnamen – , hocharabisch Miṣr, ägyptisch-arabisch Masr – bezeichnet.

Mit RACI wird eine Technik zur Analyse und Darstellung von Verantwortlichkeiten bezeichnet. Der Name leitet sich aus den Anfangsbuchstaben der englischen Begriffe Responsible, Accountable, Consulted und Informed ab.

| Caïro of Kaïro (Arabisch: القاهرة Al-Qāhira) is de hoofdstad van Egypte en bestaat uit de gouvernoraten Caïro en Gizeh. De stad telt zo'n 13 miljoen inwoners. Het officieuze inwoneraantal van Caïro ligt echter nog veel hoger, mede door het hoge aantal illegale immigranten in de stad. De hele metropolitane regio van Caïro is met zo'n 18 miljoen inwoners de grootste stad van Afrika en het Midden-Oosten en één van de grootste steden ter wereld. De stad is een van de meest vervuilde steden ter wereld en kent een enorme verkeerschaos.

Le Caire (, romanisation : Al-Qahira, « La Victorieuse » ; ) est la capitale et la plus grande ville d'Égypte. Sa population est de plus de seize millions d'habitants, ce qui en fait la plus grande ville du Moyen-Orient et la seconde d'Afrique derrière Lagos. Elle serait également la dixième agglomération du monde en 2014. Bien qu'Al-Qahira soit le nom officiel, en arabe égyptien, elle est plus souvent appelée Masr (le nom arabe de l'Égypte) ou Al-Fustat. Elle est située en amont du delta du Nil, sur les rives du fleuve ainsi que sur quelques îles adjacentes. Elle se trouve au nord du pays, à au sud-est d'Alexandrie et à l'ouest du canal de Suez. Les habitants du Caire sont appelés les Cairotes.
