Chemical probe
Chemical probes are reagents that allow the user to probe into mechanistic and phenotypic questions about their molecular targets. They can rapidly and reversibly inhibit a protein or protein domain in cells. They typically have an extremely high in vitro potency and have very high specificity relative to other proteins of the same family.
