Coyote

COYOTE is an American prostitutes' rights organization. Its name is a backronym for Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics,, a reflection of the fact that sex work tends to be stigmatized primarily because of society-imposed standards of ethics. COYOTE's goals include the decriminalization (as opposed to the legalization) of prostitution, pimping and pandering, as well as the elimination of social stigma concerning sex work as an occupation.

The coyote ( or , , or ; Canis latrans) is a canid native to North America. It is a smaller, more basal animal than its close relative, the gray wolf, being roughly the North American equivalent to the Old World golden jackal, though it is larger and more predatory in nature. It is listed as "least concern" by the IUCN, on account of its wide distribution and abundance throughout North America, even southwards through Mexico and Central America. It is a highly versatile species, whose range has expanded amidst human environmental modification. This expansion is ongoing, and it may one day reach South America, as shown by the animal's presence beyond the Panama Canal in 2013. , 19 subspecies are recognized.

Der Kojote (auch Coyote; von aztek. cóyotl „Mischling“; lat. Canis latrans), auch bekannt als nordamerikanischer Präriewolf oder Steppenwolf, gehört zur Familie der Hunde (Canidae) und sieht einem kleineren Wolf ähnlich. Das Verbreitungsgebiet dieser Art erstreckt sich heute von Zentralamerika bis in die nördlichen Regionen Kanadas und Alaskas. Ursprünglich war das Verbreitungsgebiet auf die Prärieregionen und Buschland im Westen und Mittleren Westen Nordamerikas begrenzt. Durch den Rückgang des Wolfsbestandes und die Veränderungen des Lebensraums in Folge der europäischen Besiedelung Nordamerikas hat der Kojote sich jedoch neuen Lebensraum erobern können. Während der letzten Jahrzehnte hat er die gesamte östliche Hälfte Nordamerikas besiedelt. Als anpassungsfähiger Kulturfolger ist diese Art mittlerweile auch in Stadtgebieten anzutreffen.

El coyote (Canis latrans, que significa "perro ladrador") es una especie de mamífero carnívoro de la familia Canidae. Los coyotes solo se encuentran en América del Norte, América Central y recientemente América del Sur; desde Canadá hasta Colombia. Su nombre viene de la palabra náhuatl cóyotl (AFI /ˈkojo:tɬ/). Aunque a veces se reúnen en manadas, son por lo general solitarios. Viven en promedio unos 6 años. Recientemente, se han descubierto manadas de coyotes que cruzaron al otro lado del Canal de Panamá, y ya se han avistado ejemplares en la zona noroeste de Colombia.
