A dorsal root ganglion (or spinal ganglion) (also known as a posterior root ganglion), is a cluster of nerve cellbodies (a ganglion) in a posterior root of a spinal nerve. The dorsal root ganglia contain the cell bodies of sensory (afferent) neurons.
