Flagship

A flagship is a vessel used by the commanding officer of a group of naval ships, reflecting the custom of its commander, characteristically a flag officer, flying a distinguishing flag. Used more loosely, it is the lead ship in a fleet of vessels, typically the first, largest, fastest, most heavily armed, or best known.

FlagShip is both an object oriented and procedural programming language, based on the xBase language dialect and conventions. FlagShip is available for and is cross-compatible to different computer platforms, such as Linux, Unix and Microsoft Windows. As a true compiler, it translates the very popular database 4GL xBase source code to native 32-bit or 64-bit executables, using the same source-code and databases.

FlagShip ist eine objektorientierte und prozedurale Programmiersprache, basierend auf xBase, dessen Quellcodes der Compiler ebenfalls übersetzen kann. FlagShip ist für die 32 und 64bit Betriebssysteme Linux, Unix und Microsoft Windows verfügbar.

Als Flaggschiff – früher Admiralsschiff – wird das Führungsschiff eines Flottenverbandes bezeichnet. Von diesem Schiff aus führt der Flaggoffizier (marinetypische Bezeichnung eines Admirals) mit seinem Stab den Verband. Das Flaggschiff führt im Regelfall die Flagge des Befehlshabers bei Tag und Nacht.

FlagShip es un compilador para Unix, Linux y MS-Windows que soporta completamente el código escrito en CA-Clipper (Summer'87 a 5.3), amplía la sintaxis de este lenguaje y ofrece las ventajas propias del código compilado en un entorno multitarea, multiusuario. Es un compilador nativo que compila completamente código Clipper al objetivo sistema operativo (32-bit o 64-bit). No hay pseudo-código como en Clipper, ni se trata de un intérprete, como otros sistemas xBase. FlagShip es un compilador nativo y, como tal, optimiza tanto la velocidad como el tamaño del código generado.

Flagship fue un desarrollador de videojuegos independiente japonés fundada por Capcom, Nintendo y Sega por el diseñador de videojuegos Yoshiki Okamoto. Flagship a menudo ha creado escenarios para productos nuevos y ya existentes y ha desarrollado para Nintendo en varias ocasiones para Game Boy Color y Game Boy Advance. Su último videojuego fue para Nintendo DS.

Een vlaggenschip is binnen een vloot het schip waarop de bevelhebber van die vloot is te vinden. Bij een groep oorlogsschepen is dit het schip dat gebruikt wordt door de officier die die groep leidt, vroeger wel vlaggeman genoemd, omdat hij het recht had een commandovlag te voeren. De term wordt ook gebruikt in de koopvaardij en duidt dan op het meest toonaangevende schip van een rederij of een konvooi. Door overdrachtelijk gebruik kan vlaggenschip in het algemeen worden gebruikt om het meest toonaangevende onderdeel of product of van een organisatie aan te duiden.

Navire amiral ou vaisseau amiral est le terme militaire désignant le navire de l'officier de marine au grade le plus élevé de la flotte, amiral étant le grade le plus élevé. La coutume veut que ce navire batte un pavillon distinctif le rendant aisément reconnaissable de sa flotte.
