Josiah White

Josiah White (1781–1850) was an early pioneer in the advancement of anthracite coal for heating and manufacturing in everyday life. Along with this he also helped establish a better transportation industry for transport of this coal and other material in the Delaware Valley and the Lehigh Valley regions. Thus helping to establish the Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company, along with co-founder Erskine Hazard.
