Kasukabe, Saitama

is a city in eastern Saitama Prefecture, Japan, approximately north of Tokyo. It was formerly located in Kitakatsushika and Minamisaitama Districts. Kasukabe once prospered as part of the Nikko Kaido highway, an important trade route that linked Edo with Nikko.
