The
Left Party (, V) is a
socialist and
feminist political party in Sweden, founded in 1917 following a split from the
Swedish Social Democratic Party. The party has had many names throughout its history. In 1917 the party's name was
Swedish Social Democratic Left Party (, SSV). It became the
Communist Party of Sweden in 1921, the
Left Party-Communists in 1967, and adopted its current name in 1990.
