Revolution

REvolution is the fourth studio album by the band Lynch Mob released in 2003. This album marks the return of vocalist Robert Mason and bassist Anthony Esposito to the band. The tracks of the album are re-worked versions of the band's first two albums, and Dokken songs of the George Lynch-era of the band.

A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turn around") is a fundamental change in political power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time when the population rises up in revolt against the current authorities. Aristotle described two types of political revolution:

1. Complete change from one constitution to another
2. Modification of an existing constitution.

Historians widely regard the Revolution as one of the most important events in human history.

Revolution! is the seventh studio album by American pop rock group Paul Revere & the Raiders, on Columbia Records (CS 9521). Produced by Terry Melcher and released in 1967, it reached number 25 on the U.S. albums chart and yielded two top 40 singles. The album cover photo was taken on the porch of a house located at the corner of East 15th Street and Mississippi Avenue in Joplin, Missouri.

Revolution!! (also known as "The French Revolution by the National Theatre of Brent") is a 1989 television comedy film by the National Theatre of Brent, the British comedy double-act. It stars Patrick Barlow as Desmond Olivier Dingle and Jim Broadbent as Wallace, and is written by Patrick Barlow, with Jim Broadbent and Martin Duncan. Directed by Jonathan Stedall. Desmond and Wallace act out major events of the French Revolution, portraying different characters simply by slightly changing their grey suit costumes.

¿¡Revolución!? is a 2006 political documentary directed by Quebec journalist and filmmaker Charles Gervais. It examines the Bolivarian Revolution led by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. It was produced by Télé-Québec, the Quebec government's public television network.

Die Französische Revolution von 1789 bis 1799 gehört zu den folgenreichsten Ereignissen der neuzeitlichen europäischen Geschichte. De Franse Revolutie was een invloedrijke politieke omwenteling aan het eind van de 18e eeuw waarbij de Franse monarchie werd afgeschaft en de Eerste Franse Republiek werd opgericht. De absolute monarchie die Frankrijk drie eeuwen had geregeerd werd ten val gebracht en in drie jaar werd de monarchie helemaal afgeschaft. De macht en de privileges van adel en geestelijkheid werden massaal teruggedrongen onder druk van radicale politieke groeperingen, de mensenmassa in de steden en boeren op het platteland. De oude ideeën van absolutisme, aristocratie, en de macht van de kerk werden vervangen door de principes van Liberté, égalité, fraternité, oftewel Vrijheid, gelijkheid en broederschap. De Bestorming van de Bastille wordt beschouwd als het begin van de revolutie. De Franse Revolutie heeft verstrekkende en blijvende veranderingen teweeggebracht in Frankrijk en in heel Europa.

Een revolutie is een plotselinge radicale omslag of verandering. Het is daarmee de tegenhanger van evolutie, wat een geleidelijke verandering is. Etymologisch komt het woord van het Latijnse revolutio, wat terugkeer (in de tijd) betekent. De term zelf komt oorspronkelijk uit de astronomie. Pas later (in 1660) werd hij gebruikt in zijn huidige betekenis bij de politieke restauratie in Engeland. Heden ten dage zijn historici het niet eens welke (historische) gebeurtenissen nu wel of niet de term 'revolutie' waardig zijn. Ook worden de termen revolutie en revolte soms door elkaar gebruikt.

Révolution ! est une organisation française d'extrême gauche issue d'une scission début 1971 de la Ligue communiste révolutionnaire (Isaac Johsua, Henri Maler, Christian Picquet, etc.). Quelques militants du PSU (Manuel Bridier...) la rejoignent en 1972.

Une révolution est un renversement brusque d’un régime politique par la force. Elle est aussi définie par le Larousse comme un « changement brusque et violent dans la structure politique et sociale d'un État, qui se produit quand un groupe se révolte contre les autorités en place, prend le pouvoir et réussit à le garder ».

La Révolution française est la période de l'histoire de France comprise entre l'ouverture des États généraux, le , et le coup d'État du 18 brumaire de Napoléon Bonaparte, le 9 novembre 1799. Il s'agit d'un moment crucial de l'histoire de France, puisqu'elle marque la fin de l'Ancien Régime, et le remplacement de la monarchie absolue française par une monarchie constitutionnelle, puis par la Première République. Elle a mis fin à la royauté, à la société d'ordres et aux privilèges. Elle a légué à la France la Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen, qui proclame l'égalité des citoyens devant la loi, les libertés fondamentales et la souveraineté de la Nation, apte à se gouverner au travers de représentants élus. Plusieurs centaines de milliers de personnes trouvèrent la mort durant cette révolution, notamment pendant la Terreur ( personnes guillotinées) et pendant les tentatives de contre-révolution, notamment la guerre de Vendée.
