Sakya

The Sakya (, "pale earth") school is one of four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, the others being the NyingmaKagyu, and Gelug. It is one of the Red Hat sects along with the Nyingma and Kagyu.

Shakya
The Shakya were a clan of the Vedic period (1750–500 BCE). The name Sakya is derived from the Sanskrit word sakya, which means "the one who is capable".
