Society of St. Pius X

The Society of Saint Pius X (; ; also informally known as the SSPX) is an international priestly fraternity, founded in 1970 by the French Roman Catholic Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre who held the following juridical positions:

• Former apostolic delegate for French-speaking Africa
• Superior General of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost (1962-1968)
• Assistant to the Papal Throne by Pope John XXIII
• Member of the Central Preparatory Commission for the Second Vatican Council
