Taxonomic

Taxonomy (from taxis, "arrangement", and , "method") is the science of defining groups of biological organisms on the basis of shared characteristics and giving names to those groups. Organisms are grouped together into taxa (singular: taxon) and given a taxonomic rank; groups of a given rank can be aggregated to form a super group of higher rank and thus create a taxonomic hierarchy. The Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus is regarded as the father of taxonomy, as he developed a system known as Linnaean classification for categorization of organisms and binomial nomenclature for naming organisms.

Eine Taxonomie ( táxis ,Ordnung’ und nómos ,Gesetz’) oder ein Klassifikationsschema ist ein einheitliches Verfahren oder Modell, mit dem Objekte nach bestimmten Kriterien klassifiziert, das heißt in Kategorien oder Klassen (auch Taxa genannt) eingeordnet werden. Naturwissenschaftliche Disziplinen verwenden den Begriff der Taxonomie für eine in der Regel hierarchische Klassifikation (Klassen, Unterklassen usw.).

Taxonomie of taxinomie (Grieks: τάξις táxis ordening, schikking en νόμος nómos gebruik, wet) is de wetenschap van het indelen van individuen of objecten in groepen (taxa, enkelvoud taxon). Met de term taxonomie kan zowel de methode worden bedoeld die bij het indelen wordt toegepast, als de hiërarchische ordening die het resultaat ervan is. Zo'n hiërarchische ordening, maar ook de activiteit om tot zo'n ordening te komen wordt classificatie genoemd. Vrijwel alles kan taxonomisch worden ingedeeld: levende wezens, plantengemeenschappen, dingen, plaatsen, gebeurtenissen, enzovoort.

La taxinomie, ou taxonomie, est une science, branche de la biologie, qui a pour objet de décrire les organismes vivants et de les regrouper en entités appelées taxons afin de les identifier puis les nommer et enfin les classer et de les reconnaitre via des clés de détermination dichotomiques. Elle complète la systématique qui est la science qui organise le classement des taxons et leurs relations. Parmi ces méthodes, les plus récentes incluent une nouvelle approche conceptuelle de la classification mais aussi des méthodes d'analyse d'éléments empiriques restés longtemps ignorés de la science avant l'arrivée, au cours de la seconde moitié du , des découvertes de la biologie moléculaire.
