Tropical

The tropics is a region of the Earth surrounding the Equator. It is limited in latitude by the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere at  N and the Tropic of Capricorn in the Southern Hemisphere at  S; these latitudes correspond to the axial tilt of the Earth. The tropics are also referred to as the tropical zone and the torrid zone (see geographical zone). The tropics include all the areas on the Earth where the Sun reaches a subsolar point, a point directly overhead at least once during the solar year.

Die Tropen (von trópoi Heliou „Sonnenwendegebiete“) sind einer gängigen Definition zufolge jenes Gebiet zwischen den Wendekreisen, also zwischen dem Gebiet von je 23½° nördlicher und südlicher Breite. Sie sind klimatisch gesehen die heißeste Klimazone der Erde. Je nachdem, wie humid das jeweilige Tropengebiet ist, lässt es sich in fünf Vegetationszonen einteilen, die vom Tropischen Regenwald bis zur Wüste reichen.

Tropical puede referirse a:

• Los trópicos, los dos paralelos de la Tierra que se encuentran a una distancia del Ecuador de 23° Norte y Sur, respectivamente; son llamados Trópico de Cáncer y Trópico de Capricornio.
• La zona intertropical, franja que rodea al Ecuador, entre el Trópico de Cáncer y el Trópico de Capricornio.
• El clima tropical, tipo de clima habitual en la zona intertropical.
• El bosque tropical, bosque situado en la zona intertropical, que consecuentemente presenta clima tropical, y cuya vegetación predominante es de hojas anchas.

Les tropiques sont les deux parallèles du globe terrestre qui délimitent une bande à l'intérieur de laquelle le soleil apparaît au zénith au moins une fois dans l'année. Chaque tropique est séparé de l'équateur par de latitude : le tropique du Cancer au Nord, et le tropique du Capricorne au Sud (les noms de Cancer et Capricorne ont été attribués il y a environ 2 000 ans selon la position qu'occupait alors le Soleil dans le zodiaque au solstice d'été).
